Mel is a twenty-five-year-old underachiever with a terrible job, too much time on her hands and a perfect younger sister. Her work and love lives hit a new low when she ends up working for her ex.

Now a successful accountant, he looks a prime catch to his girlfriend Natalie, who's determined to replace Mel as the woman in his life. Despairing of improving her own life, she sets out to help her friends instead.

After all, what’s the worst that can happen?

The Dr Pepper Prophecies follows 25 year old Melanie Parker in her extremely unlucky life. After helping her boyfriend get a new job and becoming her boss, he dumps her and makes her working life hell. Her timid, single flat mate Beth who Melanie thinks needs to be dating, ends up with with them both witnessing some disastrous dates and leaving Melanie facing serious consequences. Her sister is perfect and her parents hate her and deem her a failure, could anything be right in her life? One thing is and that's her best and oldest friend Will Knightley who bails her out of all sticky situations and loves her quirks an all. Melanie, however, hates his girlfriend Natalie. Natalie has made it very clear that Mel is not wanted around her and Will. What will Mel do without her partner in crime?

If im being extremely critical this book is very one dimensional therefore making it slightly drag. If it would have been split into dual narration and included Will's side and thoughts the book would have been absolutely fabulous. I guessed the outcome at the very beginning and I really did want a bit more in between. It did make me giggle throughout though, it's very dry humoured, which I loved, and it had me Elvis smirking, you know the top lip curl smirk? That one.

I recommend this book to romance lovers who like a bit of dry humour
