Review:

So were back to the little town of Ashford in Connecticut to see lovely Lily and Ceecee at the Gingerbread Cafe. Here we're catching up on how Lily is and if she is still loved up with Damon and more so if he's still got one fine arse.

I was really looking forward to this as Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe impressed me and was still fresh in my mind.

So I read the blurb didn't I? Why I do it to myself I will never ever know! I was gutted because it gives far to much away for my liking, it could have been slightly wound down to give the plot more element of surprise. I hate reading blurbs!

Moving on, despite the blurb telling me what was going on Raisins writing skills were enough to pull me through the read with a smile on my face and love in my heart. It's a nice book and follows on great from Book one. I did forget how much I adored CeeCee and this book shows you why you have such a good feeling about her. The relationship between Lily and Damon's daughter is really sweet and it's nice to see a broken down relationship still on track due to their daughter and allowing love from another person in without it being an issue. I really did like that bit.

The book in a whole is really good, but I did find at times it just came to an abrupt stop and out of the blue something would happen throwing me slightly. It also lacked emotion in some characters and to me I found that really hard as they needed that boost to allow me to connect more with them and to fully appreciate their feelings and to get the whole seriousness of some situations they found themselves in. Saying that though It's still a cracking book.

I really liked it and I'm looking forward to see the Gingerbread Cafe back at Christmas.

Blurb:

The Gingerbread Café is all a buzz! This Easter, Lily and the rest of the town of Ashford, Connecticut are planning a truly decadent Chocolate Festival. Cooking up a storm, CeeCee and Lily are not just baking a batch of their sinfully delicious chocolate-dipped gingerbread men, but an excess of chocolate truffles, squidgy, cinnamony hot cross buns and melt in your mouth chocolate eggs. The Gingerbread Café staff have definitely enjoyed the tasting process!

Add in Damon’s cute-as-a-button seven year old daughter, Charlie, up for a visit and Lily’s perfect Easter may just be around the corner. Until her ex-husband Joel turns up demanding twenty thousand dollars… Suddenly the future of the Gingerbread Café is not so clear…and Lily finds herself eating far more of The Gingerbread Café’s treats than her skinny jeans allow…

Can Lily concoct a brilliant plan to save her beloved café, convince Damon she has no feelings for Joel and still throw a Chocolate Festival the town will be talking about for years? There’s only one way to find out..
